Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey

Fellow geeks ahoy! Neil deGrasse Tyson has truly picked up the torch from Carl Sagan. Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey will undoubtedly help inspire future generations to venture into science as Cosmos did in the 80’s.  Episode 1 – ‘Standing Up in the Milky Way’ aired on the 9th of March 2014 and it is excellent.

The narration is accessible and the sounds and music immerse you. The visuals are great, and the CGI is good (albeit a bit cheesy). But it’s this cheesiness combined with the music that tickles your inner Trekkie. Those too cool for school can also take solace in that it calms down after the first 15 minutes and makes way for some brilliant cartoons with strong messages. Episode 2 – ‘Some of the Things That Molecules Do’ airs on the 16th of March, so catch up and start following.
